Angelique's
Bio
Angélique's star quality was evident
at age four, when she made her musical
debut during a class assembly in her
hometown of Alameda, California. Angélique
quickly developed a taste for being
in the spotlight and performed solo
in several church and school talent
shows throughout her school years. "I
was such a diva-in-training," she
says with a grin. "I loved being
the center of attention."
Fully multi-lingual, Angélique's lyrics are sung in
Spanish, French, Portuguese and English with
emotionally charged songs that mesh well with her
sensual voice and escort the listener into a thought
provoking, head boppin', neo-soulful world.
As one can tell, Angélique's musical
influences are varied; Bob Marley and
Elton John discovered from her next
door neighbors' garage sale finds as
well as her mother's vintage R&B
soul, sister Denise's Santana and Stevie
Wonder, daddy's jazz and later Edith
Piaf, Josephine Baker and Julio Iglesias
from her language studies.
As an independent artist Angélique has achieved
amazing success with her "Neo soul with a touch of
funk" music being embraced by over 10,000 fans and
hundreds of radio stations.
