Amie
Moore was born in Miami, Florida and grew up to the
sounds of Latin, blues, folk and rock music. Her
mother was a musician so there was a constant stream
of live players throughout Amie's early years. After
moving to Canada, Amie started playing guitar and then
took up playing piano. Music was just a part of life
as far as she was concerned... watching her mother
practice with various bands was a normal evening's
entertainment. At the age of fifteen she joined her
first group... then another... and so on. Always good
at doing things in an unusual order she then went to
music school at the ripe old age of twenty-three after
performing gigs for over eight years. After music
school she toured in top-forty bands and was a part of
several award-winning groups such as Innocent Three
and Hand of Fate. Finally Amie started writing songs.
She had always thought of herself as your typical 'Pop
Tart' and was thoroughly shocked to find she had
another talent - songwriter. Amie submitted some of
her material to several publishers... one of them
based in Los Angeles and received promising results.
It was then she moved back down to the United States
and started writing and performing in local LA
establishments, such as Genghis Cohen and The Roxy.
Amie also performs with several well-known Los Angeles
based groups such as Angelique and Kerry Candaele, as
well as her own group. She can be heard on the sound
track for Lord of The Rings and the award winning
documentary film 'Searching For Paradise. Her song 'If
I Was Evil' will be the feature song on the upcoming
independent film 'Hook, Line & Sinker' starring Jeremy
Sisto. Amie has a CD single released in Canada and is
currently working with Juno Award winning producer
Michelle Garuik to release her first full length CD in
2003.
